Hassan is introduced as Amir’s best friend, and from the beginning, until his death further in the novel he remains loyal to his best friend. Hassan and Amir are inseparable and share a brother like friendship. Despite Amir continuously saying hurtful words to Amir, he never displays how hurtful Amir’s words are, which shows his loyalty. Hassan is brave and unwavering loyal to Amir and this is shown when Assef threatens Amir from being friends with a Hazzara. Hassan lives as a servant to Baba and Amir, along with his father Ali. While Amir gets ready for school, Hassan prepares Amirs books for the day and his breakfast. Throughout being a servant for Baba and Amir, he is not prone to being an envious person and is happy to do anything for
