There is no doubt that Amir has certainly changed over time. From the moment he was a young boy to when he was a grown man, he experienced a lot of changes. His mindset evolved, as he grew as a person. Amir is no longer the same self centered young boy he was. Over the course of time, Amir’s mindset, heart, and spirit developed for the better. When Amir was a young boy, he treated Hassan very poorly. He would purposely do things to tease Hassan. Because of Hassan’s innocence, he never realized how bad of a friend Amir was. Amir was selfish and self centered when other people would judge his friendship with the servant by known as Hassan. Amir would play with Hassan only when there was no one else to play with he was embarrassed by Hassan and never considered him as nothing but a servant. When Amir’s friends would ask if he was friends with that hazara, he would always answer no.
