The Stardust accident happened 14 February 1981, there were 840 patrons with ages ranging from 18 to 30 celebrating the day, 48 never returned back home and 214 obtain serious injury and 11 more permanently disabled. Four other victims spent an agonising 25 days in the hospital and later died of respiratory complications, many of the victims who survived suffered psychological problems and the guilt of being a life after many people losing their lives. On a day that was supposed to be an enjoyable day for them turned to be a total disaster and a life changing event in their life.
