In Heroes, Gods, and Monsters of the Greek Myths by Bernard Evslin, Jealousy is a characteristic that all the gods have. They usually can't contain their jealousy and that leads them to do bad things, like killing or punishing people. One god is actually known for being full of envy, her name is Hera. Zeus is always having affairs and not being faithful to his wife, Hera. Because of Zeus’s infedelities, Hera always watches out for him and she can never stop being jealous.

Heroes, Gods and Monsters of the Greek Myths, a novel by Bernard Evslin, retells short stories of the most famous gods and monsters of Greek Mythology. Evslin creates a simplistic way for the reader to understand more about these myths, through short story telling. Each god and monster is given their own chapter, and are explained thoroughly, but simplistically to help the reader understand these stories better. Evslin’s method of storytelling was effective and the way each story connected made it an easy and enjoyable read. I found it helpful that each piece was told through a maximum of about six pages.
Chapter nine is a valuable chapter, it discusses past Kings and some of their decisions along with who ruled by their side, either it being a Queen or a co-regent. In this also sheds light on some of the burial rituals and rules. Akhenaten, Tutankhamen's grandfather, turned away from the states gods during his rule, he decided to worship Aten. The change in beliefs is meaningful because it shows that if the Royal family decides to change who they worship and their belief so do the elites. Others weren't obligated to change their beliefs besides the elites; this shows how much power the King had during this period.
Some may enjoy reading, while others may despise it. Why do some despise reading? Maybe because some may not know what they are reading before they begin, or maybe because the text is not interesting. Why is it essential to know what you are reading? Why are not all readings interesting?

Greek mythology by David Stuttard. ““Drawing lots with his brothers, Hades and Poseidon, to see who should rule each of creation’s three zones – the land (together with the heavens); the sea; and the Underworld (of Hades) – Zeus won the earth and sky. Enthroned on the ridge of Mount Olympus, which is today called Stefani, and holding in his right hand a golden sceptre, he ruled both gods and men. A passage from the Iliad, said to have inspired his celebrated statue at Olympia, describes the sheer power of his presence: ‘Zeus, the son of Cronus, spoke, and he inclined his head with his dark brows, and the mighty king’s hair, anointed with ambrosial oil, fell forward from his immortal head. And great Olympus trembled.’
King emphasizes the importance of reading by stating, “Constant reading will pull you into a place (a mind-set, if you like the phrase) where you can write eagerly and without self-consciousness” (King 150). Therefore, being more knowledgeable of several types of books will
And a few obstacles that I have are coming across new words and understanding them. I get distracted easily when reading, so when I read a book it has to be interesting or I will feel lethargic.
