Later on, Trevor shares how much she loved and adored her father, when she was only nine years old, Patricia left her mothers house to live with her father, her and and her mother did not really see eye-to-eye, “When my mother was nine years old, she told my gran that she didn’t want to live with her anymore. She wants to live with her father”, were Trevor exact words on page 64 in chapter 5. This shows that Patricia never really got along with her mother, and her mother (Trevors Gran) could not manage Patricia as a child. Later on, after she left home she found out that the person she cherished and loved, did not want her either, her own father, young Patricia was getting neglected because the girlfriend of her father does not like the idea of being reminded of Patricia father 's past relationships. Patricia's husband, “Abie”, or known as Abel wasn’t really the perfect fairytale prince charming to Patricia either, neither was he an amazing father figure to Trevor as well. “He only wants a woman who is free because his dream is to put her in a cage”, Patricia shared to Trevor on page 253 in chapter 18, referring, that Abel would always try his best to guilt-trip his wife, and try to break her. As time also went on his force to build her into the perfect got more, and more intense.
