Go Possess Your Land: A Textbook for a College Course
Through studying chapter two of the book there was a great display that the children of Israel did not understand the Promised Land was freedom, thus they often lacked trust in God. When you release your pride or fears you may move forward either positively or negatively, but when you get to a place of beginning to trust God, there is absolutely nothing better. If you cast your cares on God and make the decision to just trust in Him, it shows your faith, and that you have opened yourself to peace. This chapter focuses on how when you know God’s love you may be able to trust Him and submit to Him.
Murmuring and complaining art evidence of a lack of intimacy with the father because it displays a lacking of trust, if you trust in him then there should be no complaints and you may find it undemanding to submit and be peaceful instead. When it is said we are walking in God’s love it means that we art walking in the spirit. The flesh is contrary to god’s love therefore you should not bring in thoughts not of God or say things not of God that is usually found during complaining and murmuring. The flesh desires its own sinful ways and fails at noticing blessings which may later hinder you from receiving what God has to offer later. An example of how people may murmur and complain would be when the people following Moses (the Israelites) were given manna and instead of being content or showing gratitude for it, they desired meat and did nothing but have complaints rise from out of their flesh. They had an abundance of something that was free of cost or labor, and God had just taken them from Egypt where they had no freedom, and yet they still were murmuring over what they wanted or thought they lacked instead
