Almost every time, the women like Amy and Lucy, had to face different challenges and

were getting educated. In the novel, Jonah’s Gourd Vine by Zora Neale Hurston, the author

wanted her audience to know how the women had to sacrifice and deal with their family

members of a woman get married. The story had written and given a lot of information about

the importance education. The lynching from also took place in the novel, which affected the

lives of the characters. During the 19th century, millions of black peoples were getting lynched

for false accusations of raping and murdering white people. The white people were afraid of

losing their jobs and blaming their financial problems on the newly freed slaves
