Drug addiction ruins lives. Not only does drug addiction ruin the life of the person addicted, but also affects the lives of the friends and family close to that person. According to the American Addiction Center, over 7 million Americans struggled with substance abuse in 2014. Drug addiction can cause short and long term health issues, mental and social behavioral issues, and can cause people to lose their job. No Longer Bound is a nonprofit organization that aids the problem of substance abuse by men addicted temporary work, providing therapy and counseling, and using a relationship with God to help them get through their addiction. Substance Abuse can lead to losing jobs, losing money, losing friends or family, and can lead to criminal actions. No Longer Bound includes many types of therapy (group, family, individual, marriage, etc.), randomized drug screenings, and Employment Placement Assistance. Something that makes this organization different from other organizations is that they are trying to help people recover from drug addiction by using a relationship with God. NLB has been helping men recover for 25 years and have successfully helped more than 1,200 men recover from addiction. According to the NLB website, “More than 70% of the men that enter their regeneration program recover.” According to charitynavigator.org, No Longer Bound has taken in a little more than $4,890,000; therefore, more than 84% went to the charity. The other 16% went to running the charity, salaries, and other administrative things. This shows that most of the money that they have raised went to the cause it was going to be going
