Yes These arguments where very strong, and I found it very interesting that this group used current UN legislation to prove their point. The idea that we cannot rely on the private sector to regulate themselves I think is really important because people will act upon their own self interest and encouraging people to change their mindset is not strong enough of a solution. Susan Banesh’s argument of counter speech sounds effective in theory but we cannot rely on the population to remove counter speech.If the public does not already inject enough counter speech, educating them with statistics on its effectiveness will not motivate enough people to make lasting change.
