Not to confuse this with total acceptance, Irish housekeepers were still being oppressed and looked at as outsiders (p. 148). Many Irish, like other immigrants started here with minimal jobs and were being segregated and belittled. Most immigrants were referred to as ignorant and thought to be less worthy than Americans.
The Bully Project In the movie “The Bully Project” there were 4 students involved with bullying. Alex, TY (11), Kelby, Tyler (17) where all in evolved with bulling when they were in school. I thought that had the most impact was Tyler long committed suicide when he was in high school.one of the reasons was that kids hid his clothes and made him walk in the hallway fully naked. From the 4 major student I thought Tyler’s dad had the most impact on the reason why he dislikes bullying.
Although race relations in the United States between whites and African Americans have significantly improved since the abolishment of Jim Crow laws, director Spike Lee’s socially conscious satire, Bamboozled shows that discrimination has only evolved. Released in 2000, the film sought to edify the African American population about the racist and stereotypical treatments blacks endured during the Jim Crow era when they were used to entertain the white masses. Moreover, it also shows how that culture is still propagated today, with African American film makers just as guilty. From the time the first African set foot in the North American colony of Jamestown, Virginia, in 1619, race relations have always been whites’ superiority over blacks.
Although the movie does seem to want to get a point across about racism being relevant even in mainly black neighborhoods, it mostly furthers society’s institutionalized racist thoughts towards the black
Marc Anthony a Latin singer was asked to sing the star spangled banner in the game at Shea Stadium on September 21, 2001 after the horrible attack of 9/11. This sparked a bit of a controversy. But later Marc sang “God Bless America” which to no surprise lead to a big controversy on why a -quoted from the article God Bless Marc Anthony’s America- “spic” sang the song God Bless America. Marc Anthony was criticized for singing God Bless America even though the song was written by a Russian and he is an American, which I find astoundingly sad. Marc Anthony as written in the article God Bless Marc Anthony’s America said “I was born and raised in New York.”

As Miller states, “by the early twentieth century Irish-America was a relatively mature and exceptionally diverse society, enjoying some real prosperity, far greater security than in 1850-70, and inordinate influence in politics and organized labor” (Miller 1985, p. 492). Also, the children of Irish immigrants had better access to education, which helped them to become more assimilated into the American culture. Regardless of this upward movement in American society, Irish-Americans still felt a disconnect with mainstream America and they still felt as if they were forced out of Ireland, even though some had never set foot on the island. Even with this progress in social structure, “as late as 1904, Irish-Americans still made up a disproportionately high percentage (11 percent) of the nation’s casual laborers” (Miller 1985, p. 499), confined to heavy labor jobs like plumbers, roofers, mining, and iron making. Some Irish-American men were able to get managerial jobs as foremen and pit bosses, as other immigrant populations arrived and took up the lower status
Throughout Crash you see examples of this over and over again. Racism and oppression are still a major issue in the world and unfortunately a lot of the time people stay in the the world they are born into.
This can also tie in with the I Have a Dream Speech the African Americans weren’t seen as people to the whites, and martin talks about this and what’s and equal justice so his fellow African American, his people can be treated as people. The way that the white community them was terrible, it’s all because they didn’t want to see African Americans as there equal, as other people and had to dehumanize them. The Road also show the dehumanizing theme, road agents saw people as food and treated them that way so they didn’t feel. This shows us that by dehumanizing people, we lose morals that make us human.
Do all people have to understand the negative consequences of violence at the expense of people’s lives? This is probably how the director of the film “The Killer”, John Woo, wanted to express his personal view on this issue supporting it with stylistic techniques of slow motion, gun battles, music, and multiple transitions like cut action and cutaway. With all these, the morality of the film lies on the importance of brotherhood and loyalty, while blaming the brutal human-led actions. Specifically, the film “the Killer”1 criticizes excessive violence in order to show how two members of opposite social institutions struggle to achieve their own place in the world, which is evident from the homoerotic bonding, rejection of femininity, and allusion
In England these changes were political, and in Ireland the changes affected all aspects, including increased unrest. Although there was a
