Human nature under adversity, shows that although we are going through hard times people will continue to carry the morals that they hold as functioning human beings. People will struggle not to let them completely disappear in all of the chaos. The Auschwitz by Steven Spielberg, I have a dream speech by Martin Luther King, The road by John Hillcoat and The Book of Eli all show keys that tie in well with the theme. The Auschwitz documentary by Steven Spielberg shows that the Jews being dehumanized by the Nazi still held on to their humanity. If they don’t see them as equal people as themselves, and didn’t see what was going on it makes them feel less guilty, and made it easier for the Nazis to do the things they did to the Jews. This can also tie in with the I Have a Dream Speech the African Americans weren’t seen as people to the whites, and martin talks about this and what’s and equal justice so his fellow African American, his people can be treated as people. The way that the white community them was terrible, it’s all because they didn’t want to see African Americans as there equal, as other people and had to dehumanize them. The Road also show the dehumanizing theme, road agents saw people as food and treated them that way so they didn’t feel. This shows us that by dehumanizing people, we lose morals that make us human. The director show that when you treat people with in equality, it creates chaos and we lose our human nature, we are unable to have a functioning positive
