Have you ever heard the song We didn’t start the fire by Billy Joel? This song has so many people and events that I have never heard of that are so amazing. After hearing the lyrics a couple of times it gets you to wondering why did he put these people and events into a song. My guess is that it's to tell a story about what they mean to him. My second guess would be to see what other people went through in their life to start their career. My overall reason is to get people to learn the history about these people so that they can compare their life to his during his lifetime.

Joel released the song in 1989 it gave historical personalities from 1949 to 1989.
