Technology Diminishing Our Society and Generation
Technology can be defined as a collection of techniques, skills, methods and processes used in the production of goods or services or in the accomplishment of objectives, such as a scientific investigation. People of this generation have been debating on whether it has helped or harmed society. During the 1950’s, technology was being developed, but in a negative way. The atomic bomb was invented and tested at sea. This invention proved to be very deadly. Ray Bradbury was an American fantasy, science fiction, horror, and mystery fiction author. He had described how inventions had been evil in the time during the Cold War. Ray Bradbury had also described how mechanics can be diminishing, in his story “There Will Come Soft Rains.” In my opinion, technology can help many people around the world, but it can be more damaging and cause serious consequences at the same time.

According to paragraph 45, “The house tried to save itself. Doors sprang tightly shut, but the windows were broken by the heat and the wind blew and sucked upon fire.” This is explaining how the house freaked out and became bezerk. This also demonstrates how electronics can always backfire and become corrupt. Bradbury also states in paragraph 48, “The fire crackled up the stairs. It fed upon picassos and Matisses in the upper halls, like delicacies, baking off the oily flesh, tenderly crisping the canvas into black shaving.” Bradbury is describing how the house is now set on fire because the house forgot to turn off the stove.
