The title already gives insight into the contrasting themes in the poem. It is not clear what the poem is about, but the title tells us that it will be about two contrasting ideas, circles and squares. The speaker seems to be a very intelligent, optimistic young aboriginal girl, who speaks with a knowledgeable voice, and this makes the poem seem like she has understood why everything has happened to her and how it will benefit her in the future. The structure of the poem also relates to the two contrasting themes between the aboriginal people and the white people. When the speaker is talking about when she was part of the aboriginal community, the poem is more like a prose in that it doesn't have a structure and flows on like a story. When the poem is in prose, there is no punctuation marks and the idea keeps flowing until the poem changes to talking about the white community. When the speaker is talking about when she was part of the white community, the poem is more structured, has more punctuation and each line is on its own, as if all of her thoughts are separated and they don't really flow together like they did when she was talking about being part of the Aboriginal community. This helps show the contrast between the two communities and also helps make the point that when the speaker was with the aboriginal community, she felt more free and her thoughts came more easily.
