During the Roaring Twenties, Walt Disney introduced many attractions into the cartoon industry. Walt Disney was a cartoonist and an animator who was shattered “when his distributor stole his popular character, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, from him” (Schwartz, 2014). Thus, Disney started to sketch and later introduced a new character on television, Mickey Mouse with “big round ears and a big smile” (Schwartz, 2014). As Disney once said, “It All Started with an Unlucky Rabbit” (Schwartz, 2014) which later became a success for him. In other words, sound within cartoon animations was created as the latest new feature in the film technology (Schwartz, 2014). Hence, Walt Disney went out and signed “a deal with Pat Powers of Powers Cinephone System, a company that offered the novelty of sound with film” (Schwartz, 2014). Disney decided to create sound within his characters in order for them to stand out in the cartoons. For this reason, Walt Disney became the voice of Mickey Mouse. In addition, Jim Macdonald became the next person after Disney to become the voice of Mickey Mouse. “As of today, Wayne Allwine now provides the voice for Mickey Mouse.” (Bellis, 2014). For instance, the world’s first sound carton was the “Steamboat Willie” (Schwartz, 2014). Today, every Disney character as its own voice and role within the Disney production. Furthermore, Mickey Mouse became a lovable character as he swayed his way into the newspaper production in the 1930s with the arrival of Mickey’s first comic strip (Schwartz, 2014). For instance, if it hasn’t been for Walt Disney’s interest in creating a voice for cartoons, today cartoons would be in the form of voiceless animations. With Disney’s decision, the film technology has advanced in many ways and still continues to with many new features that one can hardly believe. Disney and his famous character, Mickey Mouse and his buddies have their place in one’s heart up to today in all ways. Mickey Mouse as expanded it’s from animations and comic strips into theme parks and logo for the Walt Disney Company and still continues to expand internationally. Nowadays, everyone must have heard of Mickey Mouse and have fell in love with his adorable short cartoons. Today, Mickey Mouse trends into future generations and kids of all ages fall in love with this tiny mouse with his adorable big smile that no one can resist.
