1. How does the name of a person affect a person’s physical appearance, actions, and beliefs? In the story, Ceran chose to not change his name unlike everybody else in his team. In the end, his name causes him to not achieve his goal of finding how it all began. The name affects a person’s belief of him or herself in a way that is similar to the placebo effect. If the person believes that the name is affecting them then it may cause psychological and physical changes in that person. Therefore, Ceran was unable to crush the grandmother because he was not in the mental state to do such a cruel thing. 2. Why does Ceran become obsessed with finding the truth to life? Right from the beginning of the story, in the very first sentence, it says that
