Everybody’s buying Fall Out Boy’s new album, American Beauty/American Pyscho. The Fall Out Boy boy band recently became very popular throughout America in 2014 when their song Centuries, started to hit the number 1 music charts. Originally a fairly popular band throughout the Alternative music industry, they quickly accumulated the attention of music listeners all around the world. The boys also began collaborating with singers like Wiz Khalifa and bands like Paramore or Panic!
In Lupe Fiasco's song “The Show Goes On” the overall message of the song is when someone knocks you down you always have to get back up and keep fighting, even if you are treated like you’re nothing. Throughout the song there are many examples of that in the lyrics. Expressed through similes, imagery, idioms, hyperbole, and alliteration. The theme of persisting through hard times is shown in many ways.
Mean Girls is a musical about a girl named Cady Heron who has just moved to Illinois from Africa. When Cady comes to her new highschool, she is seen as an outcast and has no friends. Taking advantage of this, two students who took Cady under their wing, Damian and Janis, have Cady get the inside information on what is happening between the Plastics. The song is heavily stacked with metaphors about race and gun violence in America. According to the article, “An Expert's Take on the Symbolism in Childish Gambino’s Viral ‘This Is America’ Video” written by Mahita Gajanan , it states that his song is, “a counter-narrative and it really leaves you with chills.”. The song clearly tells a story using a variety of characters and organized events.
1. The ‘Drake, Hotline Bling’ source is about a man and a woman who were in a relationship and the woman went down the wrong track. The guy writing is jealous and possessive over the woman. The stakeholder Drake’s main argument is the woman shouldn’t have left him because now she’s getting herself into trouble. He’s trying to get the message across that he’s unhappy with the way his relationship ended.
In a society where songs with meaningless lyrics and repeated phrases gathers the most publicity, it is surprising to find songs that exhibit meaningful lyrics and thoughts. Unlike most hip-hop songs that contain useless repeated lyrics, Kanye West’s 2008 hit “Heartless” contains lyrics full of meaning. After producing this song, he was starting to approach the zenith of his career. This song became an instant hit for not only its soothing beats or sounds, but for its impactful lyrics that take the listener multiple attempts to really understand. This song tells the story of a tragic breakup between two individuals that cannot seem to get along.

Wuthering Heights Song Analysis In the song “Nightmares of the Bottom” by Lil Wayne, there is a visible parallel in emotion and thoughts between Lil Wayne and Heathcliff. Both characters appear to go through much of the same thought process and make many of the same emotional conclusions and decisions. It almost appears to be a soliloquy from Heathcliff detailing his reflection amongst the chaos that occurred in the Heights and Grange. Lil Wayne in “Nightmares of the Bottom” is the representative for Heathcliff’s inner thoughts.

Finally, Cole talks about how he’s going to make something out of himself even though he grew up living a struggling lifestyle. “Love Yourz” is one of the songs I can relate to because the lyrics show that no matter how messed up your life is, you should learn to love the life you have. “Love Yourz” made me realize that there will always be someone there to support my decisions and accept the person I am, and who I am to become Even though I cannot relate to having the status of a successful rapper, it is important to reflect on the ideas that J Cole emphasizes on. The hook (“No such thing as a life that’s better than yours”) sums up the whole idea of the song.
Tupac Shakur "Changes" Alexis S Whaley Keiser University Tupac Shakur was more than just an artist, rapper, or thug, he was a poet who inspired many young people of his time to take a stand. He used music as a tool to educate and speak awareness to low-income poverty-stricken neighborhoods. His words are still very influential and inspiring to many young and elderly people not just in America but throughout the world. Tupac 's song "Changes" is one of his most popular songs speaks very deep of racism and poverty in America. He starts the song tackling African American social issues.
The song, “Someone Like You” by Adele uses many forms of figurative language, such as repetition, similes, and metaphors. Adele tells us that it can be callous to move on but it is always possible to find happiness again. The song is about Adele and another guy ending their relationship. She is not over him, but she is convinced she can be happy again without him.
The song that I chose was “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield. It was released in 2004, and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. It also hit number five on the Billboard Hot 100. Natasha Bedingfield has another popular song “Pocketful of Sunshine” and was really only popular in 2004-2006. You can find her songs on multiple 00’s playlists.
