In the book of Thirteen Reasons Why the figurative language contributes to the tone of the book by being able to tell us what the author is trying to apprise and enlighten all the readers. It also shows how the writer is feeling towards the situation in hand. Without the figurative language the story will be boring since there is no feeling and no emotions.
