Emmett Till paragraph #1: The death of Emmett Till led to a revolution in America. After Emmet Till went into a convenience store to get some snacks, a white woman in the shop claimed he was coming onto her. She told her husband and he finds Emmet, tortures, shoots, ties his dead body to a fan, and throws him in a river. After his body was found, his mother held an open casket, and sent pictures to JET magazine to show everyone just how horrid his death was. The article, “The Murder of Emmett Till,” states, “The air was filled with just, I guess, unbelief, how could it happen to a kid? People felt helpless.” This shows how unfairly people were treated in the 1950’s. The men who killed Emmett Till were called to court after they found the body of the dead boy. Moses, his great uncle, wanted to do a right and tell the judge who had killed Emmett.
