Analyzing The Misconceptions Of Paul Revere's Ride

Many of the misconceptions of Paul Revere’s ride is all thanks to one poem and poet. The poem is Paul Revere’s Ride that was written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow in 1861. This poem was meant to account for the events of that night so many years ago but in an attempt to tell history some of the facts are wrong. The actual events are accounted for above and for the first half of the poem his description was quite accurate. Near the end of the poem Longfellow talks of his arrival in the town, his famous warning, and how he rode all throughout the night to warn all of the towns and villages. Although this did occur the action was not completed by Paul Revere himself and as a result this famous poet’s slight mistake has changed how we think of
