Maria Dietrich Seminole Indians Culture Originally part of the Creek tribes of Georgia and Alabama, the Seminoles migrated to Florida. Their name means wild ones or runaways. They were hunters and gatherers, but later becoming agriculturalists after their settlement in Florida in the Tampa and Everglades. They hunted with bows and arrows but as the Europeans made contact they traded for guns in the 1700’s. The Seminoles adopted many traditions of the Europeans including log homes and the style of dress.
The Archaic Indians were the Indians that roamed the United States after the Ice Age. Archaic culture, any of the ancient cultures of North and South America that developed by Paleo- Indian traditions and led to the adoption and agriculture. Archaic cultures are defined by a group of common characteristics rather than a particular time period or location; Mesoamerica, Archaic cultures that existed from approximately 8,000-2,000BC. The Columbian exchange was the widespread transfer of animals, plants, culture, human populations, technology, and ideas between the American and Afro-Eurasian hemispheres in the 15th and 16th centuries, related to European colonization and trade after Christopher Columbus' 1492 voyage. In that voyage many plants, animals, and differ types of culture came to North America.
The term “Columbian Exchange” and the year 1492 are two extremely defining parts of American history and life in general. The Columbian Exchange caused a swapping of crops, animals, religions, and diseases between the Americas and the Old World. This exchange of goods and animals caused a reconnection between the continents that were once joined as one large landmass, Pangaea, many years ago. The discovery of the New World by the Old World causes one to consider why the Old World was so successful and how different the world would be if the roles of discovery were reversed and the New World discovered the Old.

The Columbian exchange started during 1492 between major European powers such as the Spanish and Portuguese and the Native Americans of the Americas. The main message about the culture that was portrayed in the book titled Ceremony was about the persistence of Native American culture to evolve the ceremony traditions in order to adapt to the changing environment and heal Tayo’s illness from the World War II. This was demonstrated by Ku’oosh, who was a medicine man, discovers that he can no longer cure Tayo of his sickness due to only his knowledge in traditional ceremony practices. More specifically, most of the characters can be divided up into two groups; those who are wealthy and those who are not. The agriculture and mythology of a culture has a large influence on the traditions and the way in which a culture behaves. Both agriculture and mythology play huge roles in every day lives of the community under which they thrive. Prior to the settlement of the thirteen colonies in the United States there were several differentiating groups of indigenous people that lived in communities through out the US. These people were the Native Americans and each tribe of these people had different ways of agriculture, mythology, and several other varying facets of life. The Cherokee is a tribe that still thrives currently and has 293,074 people in their population.
Warfare is an integral part of society, affecting trade, the economy and the very makeup of it regarding class, religion and race. However, it also is a reflection of that society and era. Civilizations like the Ancient Greeks, Romans, medieval Europeans, South American natives, and Mongols shaped their individual styles of warfare by drawing upon societal elements like social classes, economics and lifestyles. At the same time, eras of nationalism coupled with technological, economic and political revolutions completely overhauled existed methods of war.
