Ancient Greek Government has a history that goes as far as the second century BC and it is the language that has been spoken during Archaic, classic and the Hellenistic periods. They are known for their rich vowel system and the clear length distinction in vowels and consonants. Modern Greek is known as Romaic or Neo-Hellenic which is the language that is being spoken in Greece today. Modern Greece has a simple vowel system of five vowels. The ancient Greek government systems were classed as monarchies, oligarchies, tyrannies and democracies. In the Bronze Age, the Sparta was the ancient Greek government and Athens was a democratic government. The Sparta was about stoicism, self-denial, and honor and encourage the military life. The people worked together to develop strong features that would encourage their defense of the state. Education was essential to all kids and they began at age 7. Slaves was the backbones of the Sparta economy. Women was tough-minded and strong. Girls went to gymnastic and physical training while the boys attained the status of full soldiers at age 20, after 13 years of training. Men were expected to marry and start families but they continue to live in barracks while their wives lives on plots of lands there were granted to those who achieved full soldier status. Slaves worked until they turn 30 then they were allowed to move with their families. Women who finished their education married the solder but couldn’t lived with them in the barracks. The woman obtained a lot of freedoms. The dominated the classical period. Their life was culturally rich and luxurious. Athens built architectural masterpieces and develop artistic systoles.
