The Temperaments Test, the third and final assessment in this battery, also measures personality, but against a construct of four types based on Ancient Greek Mythology. This assessment, which features a recent online version developed in 2014, introduces “types” (here called temperaments) that can be traced back to the Ancient Greek physician Hippocrates, who believed that human emotions and behaviors were caused by lack or excess of bodily fluids or humors. Consequently, each temperament is named after one of these humors (Kagan, 1998). The four temperaments are Sanguine, Choleric, Phlegmatic, and Melancholic.
