Rome’s civilization was greatly influenced by the Etruscans. The Etruscans were people whose civilization flourished in Central Italy in the 8th Century BC. Rome was created/founded by Romulus and Remus in the main part of Etruscan Italy in 735 BC. Rome expanded its territories into the becoming of the Roman Empire. When comparing the Roman Republic to the Roman empire they are very different, but also share a few common grounds. The Roman Republic was formed in 509 BC. However, once the senators, representatives, and congressman started to become more powerful, things started to become very chaotic. Therefore, 500 years later the Roman Empire had been created.
The Roman Republic was established as a result of various factors and struggles against kingship. Firstly, the Etruscan kings who ruled over Rome were overthrown in 509 BCE, as their rule was seen as oppressive. This marked the beginning of the Roman Republic. Additionally, there were class struggles between the patricians, who were wealthy landowners, and the plebeians, who were common people. The plebeians faced social and political inequality, leading to conflicts between the two classes.
The Romans and Their Leaders The Romans were an ancient people that occupied Italy and the surrounding area around the Mediterranean Sea. Chronologically, the Romans were governed by a monarchy, republic, and finally an empire. During the fall of the Republic and the rise of the empire, the citizens that rose to power in Rome all possessed the same characteristic. Two men that held power during this time, Julius Caesar and Caesar Augustus(Octavian), possessed determination which allowed for them to be great military leaders. Julius Caesar was a marvelous general who conquered many nations during his reign as both consul and emperor, and he greatly expanded Rome’s territory.
The fall of Rome was mainly because of plagues wiping out most of the population. The fall of the Han dynasty began from decentralized rule. However, outside invasions had an effect on the fall of both classical civilizations. Series of plagues began to hit the Rome Empire by the 2nd century. These plagues lowered the population drastically.

It was based on these economic and political differences ultimately led to a plebeian revolt.
