Ancient Sumer's Accomplishments

In the daily life of Ancient Sumer, each city was made up of its own military and government. There were laws that everyone had to know and obey. All the Sumerian cities spoke the same language and were free to move to whichever city and however much they wanted. They also all believed in the same gods, which were quite a few. The women, of course, had limited rights and were not looked as equal to men. There were also powerful kings in the various cities that commanded large armies and fought with each other. The ancient Sumerians were known to be very creative. They are recognized as very clever inventors who created countless things to make their life simpler and comfortable. It is said that they invented the sail for boats and the wheels
