Andrew Jackson is an autocrat. Documents 2 and 3, The Indian Removal Act, 8 and 9, The Spoil System, and 10-11, The National Bank Controversy, support this claim. The Indian Removal Act was passed by Jackson to gain more agricultural land and wealth. By doing this, he forced the Indians out of their land, which caused multiple issues for their well being. In document 2, The Memorial of the Cherokee, the Indians write about how they were pushed away from their roots into a completely different land and environment. The Cherokee state that they would rather die than have to live in this land away from their ancestors. In document 3, Jackson’s Message to Congress, he addresses the issues with the removal act, admitting to pushing the Indian tribes
