Indians. Poor. Hungry. These are the three words from Andrew Jackson that he wrote to them in 1835 with a “nice” point of view. In the letter he wrote to the Seminoles, he also stated that they would be treated comfortably and treated very nice while traveling West. While in presidency Jackson made many bad decisions like removing indians and pushing them West, vetoed a national bank, and invited a drunken mob of people into the White House. Andrew Jackson was a king-like tyrant. Andrew Jackson was a tyrant because of how he treated the indians in Georgia and then the Seminoles in Florida. According to Jackson’s letter to the Seminoles,“You will be resisted, punished, perhaps killed” (Source 5). This shows that Andrew would badly treat the native americans while they travel west of the Mississippi River. In other words, Jackson’s troops will be very pushy and mean about the indians moving west and have no patience to wait. One example is during his march back to Tennessee,“General Jackson refused to marched them back to Tennessee. Because of his strict discipline on that march his men began to say he was as tough as hickory… (Source 1). This shows that he was too lazy to march his men back to the home state from Natchez, Mississippi. In other words, Jackson decided he won’t walk back, but he did it anyways and he was very strict to his men on how they walked back. Another example is when he became president,“He had almost no political experience. He lacked political pedigree.. a phrase that was coined during his Presidency, a self-made man.” This explains that when he became President he had never been in the political world and he was never given the opportunity to have any political experience.
