Andy Warhol was a very inspirational artist- time after time overcoming new obstacles thrown in his path. Whether it be his lifelong struggle with dyslexia, or his social awkwardness that often left him feeling in-superior. Although he struggled with his self esteem; he never doubted his artistic gift that continued to take him to new heights. He had a liking for art since his youth when his mom was often found singing and drawing. Having such a strong foundation as a child allowed him to challenge the world’s perception of art during the 60’s.
Growing up he was often teased for his uncontrollable twitching. This coupled with his learning disability lead to his eventual homeschooling. His mom allowed him to be his self; she surrounded him with arts and magazines to spark a creative hunger inside of her troubled son. When he had finally reached an age of artistic expression his Grandma would reward him with chocolate whenever he would finish a drawing. Art had allowed him to become the master of his own world. His Mom saw his love for art and signed him up for an art class at the meager age of nine. This was his first major exposure to fine art and allowed him to take his new found passion to new heights.

Andy had decided to make a drastic move to New York with his hope, dreams, and only two hundred dollars. This turned out to be the best decision of his life, as he gained exposure beyond his wildest dreams. Frequently showcasing his unique art in galleries across New York he had made a name for himself.
