As Jay spends time in the Philippines, their similarities continue to stand out along with their major difference being the types of relationships with their family members. What about animals such as Buck and what about their treatment? You may ask, “who is Buck?” Buck is a dog, from the book The Call of the Wild, that undertook a great mission to rebel against an animal that treated him unfairly. That animal is called Spitz. Spitz is a pack leader and he bullied Buck very much.
What I liked I call of the will was on chapters 1-5 because of all the constant action and excitement. 1 of my favorites is when Buck and Spitz fight to the death. Also when Buck get legs of steel and thick pelt. There was not really anything I didn’t like exWcept for when buck was abused. With all of it combined I loved call of the wild.
The Call of the wild was a great book,It showed great detail and wording. It was a very emotional book with john and manuel and buck and the other dogs. More civilized dogs like Newfoundland’s and even huskies find primitive counterparts in the wolves whose howl at the end of the story was the very sound of the wild. London “doubles” the story into opposing worlds. Buck begins in the waking world of reality and ends in a silent, white wasteland which was also the world of dream, shadow, and racial memory. Buck survives to embrace life at the end of a book informed by death as the horrifying, rhythmic reflex of an entire order of things. Life in The Call of the Wild was a survival built on the death of other living creatures.
I think that the movie and the book of “Call of the Wild” are fairly different, but they are also alike from both being about Buck, the gold rush, and they both include John Thornton as well. They don’t have the same main charector though. The movie has John Thornton as the main charector. In the book though Buck is the main charector. This makes everything off track and many diffrent things happen than the book.
Nowadays many people in the world are sensitive to how animals are treated in the meat packing industry. The reason the sensitivity is as widespread as it is now is thanks to Sinclair's vivid imagery he uses to capture the reader's attention and sympathy. The methods the packers used to kill the animals can be described as cruel and disgusting. "There was a long line of hogs, with squeals and life-blood ebbing away together, until at last each started again, and vanished with a splash into a huge vat of boiling water"(37). The cruelty of slaughtering the animals within the book, affects the visitors who witness the killings.

How Rodeo Is Not Animal Abuse Do you think that rodeo is a type of animal abuse? In my opinion it is not, just because you are using a animal does not mean you are abusing it. Several organizations think that rodeo is a form of animal abuse because the animals are being kicked with spurs or having a rope around their flank to make them buck.

My passion in the equine industry started from an early age. I was adopted when I was seven years old and from there on was raised in Nunn, Colorado. Growing up and being raised by horse crazy parents is where my love for horses prepared me for the future that I wanted to live and grow as a devoted equine pursuer. Since then it’s been endless learning opportunities, experiences, and it’s even influenced me to start up my own business in the last year. I recently started up Voshel Performance Horses.
