Into the Wild is a personal tale of Chris McCandless’ journey as he runs away from home to try and live in the Alaskan wilderness. The book follows the story through the eyes of the author as he investigates the mysteriousness of Chris’ life through the eyes of those he came in contact with and the journals left behind. However like every book adapted into movie there are slight differences and characterizations throughout the story that aren’t expressed deeply enough or seen in a different light. Into the Wild is no different.
Call of the Wild presented Buck’s static nature when he resorted to his wild and king-like attitude. Also, Call of the Wild showed poor responsibility. Countless times throughout the book Buck had to be put in his place when he opposed the leadership of Perrault or Francois. Intruder in the dust, on the other hand, shows civil responsibility. Lucas fished Chick from his doom in the frozen creek, and Chick showed responsibility when he proved Lucas free from charge.
“Call of the Wild” is a book about a dog who is captured and used for a sled dog. He is captured due to needing sled dogs to get gold during the Klondike Gold Rush. The way it is told from a third person point of view is ok i guess, although from what i have seen of the movie it is told from Mr. Johnson’s point of view. I on the other hand in a way from what i have seen i think the way they tell it from a third person view is great. The movie is good and all from what I've seen but the book is just a whole lot better.
The movie did not stay faithful to the book because it changed key things from the book like, 2 interesting changes to Francois and Perrault, Spitz living, and it changed Thornton’s death as well. Point 1:Francois and Perrault: The novel “The Call of The Wild” had Francois and Perrault as both males, In the movie Francois was a Female and Perrault was still a male. In the novel Francois and Perrault would often use a whip to get the dogs to obey much quicker to their demands. In the movie they didn’t use the whip towards the dogs at all.
Although they are very different books, Walden, and Call of the Wild share a lot of the same ideas and beliefs. There were many characters in both books. In one book, the characters were smart, handy, and swift. In Call of the Wild, the characters were more tough, stern, and rough. The traits the characters showed were extremely different, but all of them had to survive in the wilderness sometimes using the same methods, and other time using completely different ones.
The 2020 Call of the wild movie significantly deviates from the novel by changing the feeling, brutality and actions, making these changes to make the movie more appealing are realistic for the viewers. Feelings: call of the wild novel shows buck having deap feelings and emotion. But in the movie Buck is less emotional. This is changed to make the movie more enjoyable and personal.

Throughout the book Thorton does not know about buck only the adventure that lies ahead, in the movie however John wants Buck from the beginning of the movie till the moment he dies in the end.

Majority of the time, the ending of the film is altered to fit the change in the movie. In A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness and the film A Monster Calls directed by J.A Bayona, the author and director of the novel and movie show two different endings to one story. In the novel, the reader is left with a cliffhanger while in the movie, the director creates an epilogue and giving the viewer closure. The novel compared to the movie shows a difference in character and plot making them different.
I think Call of The Wild was a very good book. My favorite chapter was chapter 5 because Buck finds John Thornton. I liked this chapter a lot because it tells about their long trip to Skagway. Then it tells a little about Buck’s new owners. After that buck finds John Thornton, and that is my favorite part of the book.
My opinion on the novel The Call of the Wild changed a lot through the story. The Call of the Wild was a pretty good book, but sometimes I did not understand why some things were happening. Throughout the whole book I only did not understand, or did not like a few things. I liked most of the parts so first i’ll tell you what i liked What I liked the most about The Call of the Wild was that John Thornton saved buck from Hal and Mercedes.

If you do choose to read The Call of the Wild, you will feel the many emotions that Buck experiences, receive knowledge from the book, and relate to the protagonist, Buck. All in all, I really recommend The Call of the Wild to you.
