My passion in the equine industry started from an early age. I was adopted when I was seven years old and from there on was raised in Nunn, Colorado. Growing up and being raised by horse crazy parents is where my love for horses prepared me for the future that I wanted to live and grow as a devoted equine pursuer. Since then it’s been endless learning opportunities, experiences, and it’s even influenced me to start up my own business in the last year.
I recently started up Voshel Performance Horses. Where I give lessons, training, and assistance at horse shows to my clients. It became valuable for me to help younger riders become knowledgeable by not just their riding experience, how many ribbons they have, or how many horses shows they compete at. Throughout my years in 4-H I’ve held every officer positions multiple times. It’s also made me realize that doing something in my career had to involve horses. When my family moved to Missouri five years ago I noticed that the 4-H horse program in Colorado was very different from Missouri. Colorado, you had to qualify for shows, take classes to be leveled by the experience and knowledge you had with horses, learn about the equine industry, equine health and behavior, and different styles of riding. When my family and I moved, I immediately wanted to continue and finish out my last few years in 4-H, but I realized there wasn’t a strong equine program in this state.
