The Great George Bernard Shaw once stated, “ The worst sin towards our fellow creatures is not to hate them, but to be indifferent to them; that is the essence of inhumanity.” Multiple questions arise from this. Are we being indifferent? Are we being stone-hearted? Or are we being apathetic? It appears that the value of animals is often disregarded by many people in modern times. Many animals are mistreated in the name of science. They are blinded, burned and bleached for the sake of humanity. That needs to come to an end. There are several reasons explaining why pollution is becoming a widespread problem. One of them is animal testing. According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), waste from their animal testing facilities totalled 1.5 million pounds from 2011 to 2013. That is simply ridiculous! Animal testing debris contaminates the air, waterways and soil, leading to devastating consequences on the ecosystem. In addition to polluting the environment, animal testing generates enormous loads of garbage, including animal carcasses and tissues containing toxic chemicals. Animal testing has become a subject of debate and also an environmental issue.
Moreover, the injury and suffering inflicted on innocent animals is unethical and makes humans unworthy of superior humans. How would you react if you were assaulted by an unknown person?
