Essay on alternatives to animal testing
Don’t take our word for it - see why 10 million students trust us with their essay needs.
The experiments that were done on them were inhumane, and animal experimentation should be banned. If it is true that animals feel pain as we do, then it can be said that animal testing is inhumane. According to the “Animal Testing” Article, “A chief moral concern raised in regard to animal testing is the pain and suffering
Animal Ethics- Pro Animal Research There is a large number of people who would disagree with the statement that “Animal testing is very beneficial” but what these people don’t realize is that without animal testing we wouldn’t have all the medical advancements that we have today. Animal testing has made a huge impact on our daily lives and will affect our future to come. According to Alec Baldwin, “One cannot be ‘single issue’ when it comes to medical research.” Baldwin’s mother is apart of the Breast Cancer Research Fund, she stated that “This year, approximately 182,800 women in the United States will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, and approximately 40,800 women will die from breast cancer.”
The physical suffering and discomfort that animals test subjects experience during research that are frequently faulty, limited, and expensive are the factors that advocates for stronger animal rights fight to end. Each day that an animal is subjected to animal testing is another day that they suffer. The test subjects become nothing but a prisoner to the scientists and researchers. Animals in laboratories are permitted by law to be “burned, shocked, poisoned, isolated, starved, drowned, addicted to drugs, and brain damaged” all for scientific research (“Cruelty to Animals”). As stated prior, once the experiments are over the animals either die or are thrown back into their confined cages or stocks and used for a later experiment.
Animals are subjected to excruciating experiments daily. Countries such as Israel and India have stopped animal testing as well as Britain. “…countless animals are experimented on and then killed…” (Murnaghan 1). Animals are subjected to confined rooms all of their lives, used in painful experiments and then disposed of as if they are an inanimate object.
Although the experimentation of animals has furthered medical knowledge, it should not be allowed because it is brutal and animals are unable to give their approval. In order to do a study on humans it must be authorized by them, where animals are unable to give consent, which strikes questions in the world of science on whether this is morally acceptable. Although animal experimentation can result in saving the lives of millions, many find it to be cruel and unjust. Seeing as animals are unable to speak for themselves, they are still able to express their emotions through their behavior.
Suffering is nonetheless inherent as animals are held in sterile, isolated cages, forced to suffer disease and injury, or euthanized at the end of the study. Animals in laboratories are treated merely as objects or instruments with little value of their precious lives. After I realized the truth behind diapers, I adopted a dog. For the next 4 years, I grew up with the small puppy by my side. For me, the puppy was not just an animal - it was a friend - no, it was a member of my family.
More than 100 million animals are killed in the United States each year due to scientific testing.(PETA) Animals are often used for product testing in labs. Yes, these tests can help science to progress, but it is an inhumane thing. These animals are defenseless, and it is cruel to put them through these processes. Scientists should not be allowed to test products on animals because it can harm animals, other methods can replace animals, and tests are not always accurate because animals are so different from humans.
Animal experimentation has been an easy and ethically acceptable way to research and test medicines and treatments for humans since the time of the ancient Greeks. Animals opened the door for the scientists and philosophers of old to learn things about the human body that were previously explained with magic and superstition. Naturally, science has come a long way since the ancient Greeks. Today, we have a whole host of medical resources at our disposal, which begs the question: Do we truly need animals in medical research anymore? Not only that, but the practices with animals at thousands of labs across the United States have been notoriously vague for years.
I believe that they should keep killing animals for animal testing. Because they show how many dna they have inside them. They show what vitamin they have and how they share They use animal testing every year in scientific for they could use the commercial testing that come out of the animals body they first kill the animal then when they are finish they start taking parts off the animal for they could test how many have dangerous affection. They say that in California that the last 100 years the medical breakthrough in the research using the animasl.
Animals in Research and Testing According to PETA, the animals who are in research and testing “shake and cower in fear whenever someone walks past their cages and their blood pressure spikes drastically. After enduring lives of pain, loneliness and terror, almost all of them will be killed,” (“Animal Testing 101”). Animal-testing is the use of non-human animals in research and development projects, especially for purposes of determining the safety of substances, such as foods, beauty products, and/or drugs. Although animal research plays a crucial role in experiments focused on disease treatments and preventions, it is cruel, inhumane, and should be stopped. This is an act that should be banned and prohibited in all states and countries
Animal experimentation is a very noteworthy subject that has created quite a stir amongst the world. Anything from monkeys becoming anemic due to starvation to puppies with open sores from a new topical cream to relieve itching; animal experimentation is something that has been around since 129 AD. Testing human diseases or medicines on animals is factually not accurate, considering that there are so many differences between a human and a non-human animal. According to PETA, ASPCA, The Humane Society, and the article The Flaws and Human Harms of Animal Experimentation by Aysha Akhtar, they explain that animal experimentation can be avoided and is an unnecessary step in today’s testing. Most humans typically care for non-human animals and take
Animal Testing Should Be Banned Animal testing also known animal experimentation is a process whereby non-human animals are used to conduct experiments. There has been an increase of animal testing in the field of biomedical research. Due to this, animal testing has become an extreme controversial topic that has created a division among different groups, of those who are supporting the process and those who are opposing. Therefore, there are ongoing debates on whether animal testing should go on or it should be banned. Some groups argue it is ethical, while others insist that the process is unethical, and there is a last group advocating for alternatives in the testing other than the use of animals.
Is it acceptable to put the lives of creatures in harm for the help of humans? Or to lock them in cramped areas and test on them constantly to benefit us, but cause their lives to become worse? Locked in tiny cages these animals are denied the ability to roam free in an effort to solve health issues of the human race. Every year over 100 million of the animals experimented on die in the laboratories due to this experimentation that supposedly helps to find cures for humans. These cures scientists are finding aren’t even aimed to help animals, and they live horrible lives as a result of these confining living spaces in addition introduction to diseases they wouldn’t naturally develop.
Every year, millions of animals were suffering or killed due to scientific research. Some animal rights groups suggest that we should ban animal experiments because use animals for experimentation is cruel and animals should have the same right of living as human beings. A report from U.S. Department of Agriculture shows that more than 100 million animals are killed in U.S. laboratories for biology lessons, medical experimentation, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing. There are some other people believe that the death of animals will help and save millions of human lives. Personally I believe that the experimentation on animals for scientific and medical should not be stopped.
Animals Testing Is animal testing necessary?. Should we ban expending animals in medical research or not?. More than 26 million animals are used in different countries like the United States and Canada. Animal testing may by defining as the use of animals in experiments and research that seeks to control the variable that impacts the behavior or biological system under study. Using large number of animals is mainly meant to find treatments and cure for certain diseases.
