Ann Lee and her world of advertising “It wasn’t that difficult,” Ann Lee said with a smile. She gestured towards all of her advertising awards in her glass cabinet, each one collecting dust around the edges which made some of them look almost ancient. While looking at them, I sat there and wondered in awe about how she started her own company from nothing to how successful it is now. Ann grew up in Beaumont, Texas and went to the University of Texas in Austin to major in advertising. While living in Beaumont she attempted to start her very own business. “I founded the firm in 1980 in an extra bedroom in my old house” She laughs, revealing her bright white teeth. “I started out with little to nothing.” She stayed in Beaumont for a while until her …show more content…

She now runs the company in downtown Houston and calls it, “The Lee Group.” The Lee Group is a full service advertising agency. It provides marketing services for a broad list of clients in industries including, but not limited to, healthcare, financial services, manufacturing and retail. Ann had originally entered the advertising field to use her talents as a writer and after working as a production manager in a large agency, has a strong grasp on the production side of business. On any regular day at work Ann wears a long sleeved sport shirt with yoga pants and a pink jacket tied around her thin waist. Her nails are always painted and she always wears some shade of lipstick. Her bleach blonde hair and bright blue eyes make her appear younger than she actually is. Her appearance reveals her seemingly laidback personality. “I actually used to be a cheerleader in college.” She admits, shaking her head. While working in the industry, Ann has got to work with many famous people. “I think the most interesting person I’ve met in the industry is George Bush”, she says proudly. “I got a picture with him.” she says, gesturing at a picture frame on her
