Religion is shown in Bradstreet and Edwards lives considerably in their writing styles, even though they write about two entirely different subjects. Anne Bradstreet’s poetry is mainly about her children, husband, and home (Meet the Authors ... Anne 114). In “To My Dear and Loving Husband”, we obtain a glimpse at the great bond she shares with her husband. In “Upon the Burning of Our House”, we are allowed to feel her sorrow as she describes the night she lost her home in a fire. Jonathan Edwards sermon describes to us what will happen to sinners when they fall into the hands of an angry God. We can tell that Edwards is very passionate about this subject, as it was said his sermon moved people to tears with very little effort (Sinners in the ... 124).
