Anne Frank Compare and Contrast The Diary of Anne Frank takes place Amsterdam, Netherlands. In the book Anne and her family are Jews in World War II. Because of the oppression of the Jews, Anne and her family are forced to go into hiding. Anne, her mom Edith, her dad Otto, her sister Margot, Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan, Peter Van Daan, and Mr. Dussel.
She states in the text, “Oh, Anne, how could you?”. This proves that Anne is maturing because she asks herself why she called her mom these things in her diary. She also tries to apologize but can’t bring herself to do it. Anne finds out why mummy’s been so annoyed with her.
Anne’s mood changes when she realises this. This happens with “Anne. [Pulling out a pasteboard-bound book] A diary! [She throws her arms around her father. ] I’ve never had a diary.
Anne’s relationship with her mother is gradually maturing and improving. “ I used to be furious with Mummy, and still am sometimes.” This shows that Anne still gets angry with her mother, but not all the time. This shows that her relationship with her mother is getting better because Anne used to get mad at her mother all the time. In that sentence she said “sometimes” .
“Just had a big burst-up with mummy for the umpteenth time; we simply don’t get along these days…” (p.30). Anne shows good when she shows compassion and sorrow for her old friend Lies. “I just saw Lies, no one else, and how I understand. I misjudged her and was too young to understand her difficulties.”
She thinks that she is hurting her mom’s fleeing. The passage states,” I soothe my conscience now with the thought that is better for hard word to be on paper than that mummy should carry them in her heart.” That is one example of Anne being maturing. In Addition, Anne is being hard on herself. She blame is on herself and tries to stop.
Anne is maturing in regards to her relationship with her mother by Anne expressing her feelings in her diary instead of telling her mother how she actually feels, she just writes it all down in her diary. Anne Frank needs to express her feelings to her mother’s face instead of keeping it all a secret in her diary. Anne over the years has matured and learned how to not always have that sentimental attention she has always wanted and craved. Anne has also matured and stepped up and matured on how to be misfired on all the time that now it just doesn’t phase her. Anne and her mother have been stuck with their whole family in the secret annex for 2 years now ,and Anne has been writing everyday in her diary and how her mother and father always

Anne totally forgot what was going on with Molly because when she saw Molly in her house, her thoughts took over her memories and she thought that everything was fine. However though once her thoughts and memories of what was going in set in she realized that not everything was okay. It proved how her thoughts could take over a situation and make you think something
Anne loved writting in her dairy which is named kitty so she could express her feelings about her life. In her diary she said it is diffcult because she has to hide with her family.
A fifteen-year life spent in excruciating hell. In 1933, life became extremely difficult for the Jewish people. They lived in fear, and hoped that someday they would feel secure again. This long and exhausting life spent in darkness was a result of Hitler, the newly elected German leader. Hitler proclaimed that Aryans were to become the superior race.
Growing up is not an easy thing. When you are growing up you go through a great amount of changes. These changes can be difficult to comprehend. The Diary of Anne Frank written by Anne Frank reveals how the transition from childhood to adulthood was not always easy back then, and even today. She said in the play ‟Don’t say that, it’s so wonderful to see them! I can smell the wind and the cold on your clothes.” From that quote it would have been easy for her to say that she wishes she could step outside and she hates being cooped up all the time. Instead, Anne even though she may have felt that way, she was conservative and only spoke optimistic thoughts. The war was getting worse and worse each day, but she found something to be excited about.
Imagine how it feels to be stuck in a tiny, miniscule room for almost two years, not able to make a sound or movement and if heard by someone,death or concentration camp is the destination? The Diary of Anne Frank by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett is about a small family which consists of Anne, Margot, Mr. Frank, and Mrs. Frank who were in a shock of fear, and went into hiding during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. Over the course of the story other characters join the family into hiding such as Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan, and their son Peter. During the time of hiding, Anne kept a diary to write down all her thoughts, fears, and feelings and was later known to be the most important piece of literature from the times of the Holocaust. The story takes you through their everyday lives of hiding in the annex which also includes arguing and times of happiness.
The psychological conflict goes on and on throughout the diary, as time rolls by, she adds more meaning to her life by analyzing other people’s behavior, thinking and mindset and tries to find motivation in herself. Moreover, the fear of her inner self with realities of being caught and the future of her family after it, we could relate with Hitler’s domination which killed many innocent lives. Also the search for identity is one of the key reasons which is portrayed inside Kitty; since violating all the obstacles and limitations, Anne’s diary provides a perfect scenario of despite being unidentified, they hid themselves but found a identity after the warfare as the whole community of Jews and non-Jews struggled to save their names and themselves.
