This memoir is about my cat.
My cat was born on May 12, the year of two thousand and twelve. My mom said she was a ragamuffin and that meant she had a very funny personality. These cats would go limp when you held them. The first time I saw her was on May 24, when I went to check her out to see if I wanted her. She is also called calico, which means her coat or fur is very colorful. There were three kittens in total. My cat had two other siblings both very color full but they were reserved for other people. I couldn’t bring her home because she was still a kitten and could not eat cat food so I had to wait for her teeth to get stronger. I so badly wanted to scream “mom help”! But I was afraid the tiger or monster would eat me! I would die! The light stopped shining and the growling started again and she went to bed. Then I realized I need to do something now. I knew if my mom went to sleep it would be harder to wake her up. So I figured if I am going to be eaten I might as well go down with a fight. I started to scream “MOM”! “Help”! She then rushed into my room turning the light on and she said “what’s wrong”? I said “there is something in here.” Just then she saw something brown and black run at her and she ran out of my room, jumped on her bed, screaming waking up my dad up. My dad then walked out in the hallway and turned the lights on, calmly saying “it was a cat.” Just then my sister Jessie came out of her bed room and ask “what’s going on”? My dad replied “there is another cat in the house.” Jessie knew where the cat came from. She confessed to our dad that there was a pregnant cat outside in the cold and we did not want the kittens to die. What happened was Jessie forgot to lock the basement door where we were hiding “Mama Cat” as we called her. Mama Cat went wandering around our house, the second growling was my cat “Lily”
