Our energy sources: Fossil fuels(2015). Retrieved from http://needtoknow.nas.edu/energy/energy-sources/fossil-fuels/ This article stated the energy sources situations in the Untied State and it can be implied to many other countries around the world as well. In the article, National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine claimed that 81% of all energy consumed in the United States on 2015 was generated from coal, oil and natural gas. This is a common situation of fossil fuels in the global scale. They are the essential sources to human society in the 21st century, so they are in high demand and they are indispensable. …show more content…

It surely talked about fossil fuels. In the book, CIA predicted the amount of time that known deposit of fossil fuels can last for less than half century on 2004. It mainly used numerical method to build a sound mathematical model to make the prediction. And since the data was collected globally by a reputable agency, it makes the fact more convincing. This source can be used in my problem and solution essay to illustrate the significance of this energy issue. The real problem for human beings in 21st century should be considered more seriously. Also a solution to the problem is needed. On the other hand, the rate of consumption of fossil fuels also suggested that human civilization rely on fossil fuels a lot. Furthermore, there will be a severe collapse of our economic without fossil fuels. This brings up a hypothesis: since our civilization rely on fossil fuels, if we can find its substitutes, the civilization can move forward without running out of fossil …show more content…

It claims that photosynthesis have the potential to enable a global transition from fossil fuels to solar fuels, to mitigate climate change and fuel-supply limitation. The book states that the photosynthetic machinery captures energy from electromagnetic radiation and stores it as chemical energy by breaking and creating molecular bonds against the chemical equilibrium. (Ringsmuth, Langsburg & Hankmer, 2016, p.135) Photosynthesis is a nature's solar energy conversion technology which exist for over approximately three billions years in higher plants. However, it is still a hypothesis because we need to know whether and how this systems can be engineered and deployed to supplant enough fossil fuel supply to meet the need of our economic system. Besides that, it is a great solution that can be globalized and there are less restriction than those advanced technology simply because it is a natural
