In the late 1950’s, people were motivated to learn how to successfully land a man on the moon. The Apollo Program was created to take on this endeavor. In the beginning, the Apollo flights launched into space and simply orbited the earth while focusing on the spacecraft’s performance. Apollo 1 orbited the earth 163 times. With each following mission, they ventured further with their exploration and abilities, learning from previous missions. Apollo 8 went further and orbited the moon the 10 times. Apollo 9 experimented with the undocking of the lunar module and the re-docking to the command module while orbiting the moon. Apollo 10 completed the same procedures and even went as far as practicing the landing on the moon 10 miles above
