The iPhone X is one of the most sophisticated technologies ever developed. Since Apple got rid of the finger recognition home button, they had to replace it with something to insure security for its users. Face ID was introduced and is more convenient than the Touch ID, if that is imaginable. The upgrade of the camera uses True Depth to create a detailed map of your face so your iPhone recognizes you when you are holding it (Evans).
