To the faculty of the Newman School, I am honored to be considered for the John Henry Cardinal Newman Chapter of the National Honors Society.

In the spring of my freshman year at Newman, I was approached with the opportunity to study French III in my sophomore year. Having only introductory knowledge of the language, I accepted this challenge. Despite encountering advanced material, as well as working and participating with upperclassmen, I was able to earn a cumulative A- for the class.

In my freshman and sophomore years, I led student orientations and open houses by touring Back Bay with prospective students as well as assisting these students to become acclimated to the daily life of 247 Marlborough Street.
Being a part of the Newman lacrosse team for 3 years has taught me vital skills of discipline and leadership. I am proud to be the co-captain of the lacrosse team, which, like all Newman sports is an inclusive environment. There is a space for anyone who would like to join the team. Although, as a team we had our weaknesses, myself along with my co-captain ensured that we competed at all games and most importantly promoted teamwork and ensured that all participants had fun. At all times, we proudly represented The Newman School.
Good conduct and moral character are virtues set forth by the Newman School that I adhere to everyday. “Cor ad Cor loquitur” is in the foundation of Newman, instilled in me from day one. Respect is an idea that has been ingrained in my personality, and is continually shown with regards to my teachers and peers. Of course, throughout high school I have developed a taste for 1970s classic rock and vinyl record collecting, which occupies a portion of my time outside of my studies.
