The 8th graders knew the game would be close after a narrow win previously at Green Co. Metcalfe started out hot outscoring Green 12-2 in the 1st quarter and powering the ball to the hole. However, the 2nd quarter was all Green Co. outscoring Metcalfe 16 - 2. The half-time score showed Metcalfe down 14 - 23. Rebounding was in favor of Green Co. with them pulling down 36 to Metcalfe’s 25.

It was six o 'clock at the Friendswood junior high mustang field I was playing strong safety and I had to cover the extra receiver they brought out by the snap I was already beating my man and the next thing I know the ball was sailing my way straight to me. The clock was ticking down, the game tied 52 to 52 as NC State’s Thurl Bailey threw a risky pass to team captain Dereck Whittenburg. Whittenburg barely got the ball and put up a last second prayer shot. In the 1983 season, the NC State Wolfpack faced many challenges to get to where they went. Very few people believed in them. Only the players and coaches believed they could do the impossible.

It was the middle of January, dead of winter of my eighth grade year. Coach Brooklyn Howell, the Lady Cougars basketball coach came up to me and said “come tonight, 5:30 at Byrnes Freshman Academy to try out and see if you like lacrosse.” I did not really know if I wanted to play in the cold, because I was so used to playing in a warm gym during the cold winter months. Lacrosse really did not seem like a sport that I wanted to play. But I tried it out anyway.
Showing grit is a common thing for all people in sports, but one that has really stuck to me was middle school football to now. When seventh grade football started, Coach was looking at kids for certain positions and he said my name first. I instantly perked up ready to get any position on the team, but when he said I was playing second team center I was crushed. I never played on the line before. I was tall and skinny, not big and bulky.
Did you know professional lacrosse players only make about $10,000-$25,000 a year? I already knew that professional lacrosse players didn't make a lot of money and couldn't make a living off of playing, but I didn't know how they made a living off of that salary, and that's what I wanted to know. I thought about what topic I should research and finally came up with how professional lacrosse players make a living. Later on I realized I wasn't really researching the right topic so decided to change my research to more of the history of lacrosse. I learned a lot about professional lacrosse and just the sport in general.
As a little boy I had big dreams of playing football. When I was walking in the halls of the intermediate and middle school and saw the high school football players with their jerseys on, they were like super stars. I looked up to them because I wanted to be like them. The high school football players were popular, they were happy, and they were important to the school. Going to the football games on Friday nights was the highlight of my week.
My Experiences in Softball Crack! That was the sound echoing off my bat. Down the baseline I went running, turning first base looking to see where the ball was. Sliding into second base, I was safe. I stood up and heard the roar of the crowd.
The Women’s Volleyball defeated Pine Manor in their final game of yesterday’s tournament, improving their record on the season to 6-5. It was a huge day for the Colonels, who were below .500 when the games began this morning. After scuffling to start the season, it seems as if this team may have finally hit their stride after stringing some wins together. Even though Curry would win each set in this matchup, the first one was full of struggles. Some early miscommunication quickly left the Colonels trailing 12-6.
In Friday 11 November I went to the volleyball game of Florida Gulf Coast vs Kennesaw State and it was super fun, it made me feel super excited about my university because I was there supporting the team. The game began and firts I saw Florida Gulf Coast that jumped on the Owls early in the first set and used that early advantage to gain a 1-0 lead in the match; at this moment I felt tension both in the team and on the part of the coach and I can not deny that for a moment I thought the game was lost, but then I concentrated on thinking that there was still a lot of time left. Needing to bounce back in the second, Kennesaw State gathered strength and began to put more spirits to the game and the whole public began to cheer up. FGCU ended up having a
