Oscar Romero lived out his faith in Jesus through helping those in need of a voice. Archbishop Oscar Romero (1917-1980) was born in a small town in the East Mountains of El Salvador. After Father Grande’s death, he was inspired to speak as a voice for the voiceless. In his time, the country was split into 2 social groups: the radical in which include the Guerrilla and Power including the 14 elite families that ruled the country. Oscar Romero sat in between the two groups but throughout the story, but he moves closer to the radical side. His life was clearly portrayed through John Duigan’s dramatic life documentary “Romero” in which he explores the challenges and hardships faced by Romero. Romero lived out his faith in Jesus Christ by seeking a voice for the voiceless. He did this through Jesus’s qualities of compassion, justice and perseverance

In the scene when Oscar Romero visits the president, the camera takes a mid shot showing his strong posture, symbolising his confidence and his authoritative tone representing his courage, justice and perseverance .In a neutral tone, he advises the president’s office “I will wait" which insists on his dedication to giving a voice to those voiceless and is committed into what he really believes. The camera takes a close-up shot of Oscar Romero’s face to emphasise his placid facial expression and tone, however, he asks in a very demanding tone. Likewise in the bible passage Matthew 22:34-40 Jesus is challenged by the Sadducees but he remains in a calm manner and said “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with your entire mind” Exactly like Oscar Jesus speaks in a strong yet placid tone and stands up to what he believes. Both Oscar and Jesus persevere into seeking a voice for those that are voiceless through their actions and
