One way that Oscar Romero stayed true to his morals and values was his effort helping the poor and the helpless people in El Salvador. Thus he became a martyr for social justice, the Church's first such martyr and saint.”(Cosgrave). Living such a godly and selfless life, Saint Oscar Romero has been honored and followed since the sacrifice he made knowing that he would most likely be killed for his faith. Even in knowing that truth, he continued to live and love for God and his people, showing that violence does no good and that love will always be victorious. These commending words of glory and greatness show how Oscar Romero, by his morals and values, became such a loved, trusted,
