Are People Born Good Thing Or On A Clean Slate?

The Blank Slate
A famous philosopher named John Locke once said “Human mind at birth is a complete, but receptive, blank slate upon which experience imprints knowledge” (John Locke The Mind as a ‘tabula Rasa’). Whether people are good or bad depends on their surroundings in life and their influences. While everyone has their own opinion whether people are born good or bad, I believe everyone starts equal and on a clean slate, neither good nor bad. I believe everyone is born with a clean slate. Everyone is born with a unique personality, and some personalities are changed. Personalities are changed because of the environment around them. If you were to take two kids with very different personalities and put them in the same environment, they will turn out different because of the different personalities. It’s the same thing if you were to take two kids of a very same personality and put them in two very different environments they would turn out very different. A Clean slate means that the individual chooses how they want to be, either good or bad. How a person is raised influences the choice to be either good or bad. Children who are raised in a loving family that cares about each other and their feeling and are alway kind, are more likely to raise a good child. Walter Lee Younger is an example of someone who was raised in a good family. Walter is a character from the book A Raisin In The Sun. Walter is the son of Lena aka mama. Lena and her husband raised two kids of which still live with her. When Lenas husband dies they get ten thousand dollars for life insurance. Lena tells Walter to put some in the bank for Beneatha and he can have the rest for his business that he has always wanted. Walter decides to use all of it for his business and ends up getting it all taken away, and gets scammed. Walter makes some bad decisions throughout the book but turns out to do the right thing in the end once he thinks thing
