For over 30 years, Dino’s Restaurant has provided Classic Mexican-American food to the people of Hawthorne. The appeal Dino’s distributes a classic American diner from the mid-20th century. From the outside of the restaurant, it appears to be quite humble, unembellished, and cozy concealed with white paint and light blue detail. The interior of the restaurant Embellished with polished wooden floors, retro-style seating of pink and red coloring, cunning plants, and a variety of complimentary paintings. It also came with a side of appetizing hash browns sprinkled with paprika and two slices of toasted whole wheat bread. The toast was rather cold when I received it, I would guess I received leftovers from the day before. The lady in the front said that the manager nor the chef arrives until around 11. The hash browns and cheese omelet were superb. There were no special decorations on the food whatsoever. As I’ve said before, they do not stress the idea of making things looks pretty neither do they make their food look inedible. There isn’t anything special about their food. It is most likely that they don’t care if thier food is unique because they are satisfied with the revenue they are getting now. They have been around for a long time. I received no information about their food. Michael Pollan would definitely come to a conclusion that their food did not come from an animal-friendly company. The restaurant does not claim to have the best chicken around or good quality produce. Him knowing personally how animals from CAFOs are treated and knowing the cons health-wise of eating products from CAFOs, he give Dino’s a 2/5 stars for the food. There is not a single meal on their menu that doesn’t have corn. The syrup for their pancakes, their burrito bread, and burgers all have some form of corn. They receive all of their beverages from Coca Cola which is a red flag on where they get the rest of their food from. The chemicals that are in the Vitamin water are corn-based products for sure (ascorbic acid, magnesium citrate, corn syrup, calcium citrate, potassium citrate to name a few). The food tasted good, looks good, looks like real food. It can beat McDonalds any day, but Michael would not think that their produce is wholesome and healthy if they don’t promote it or get their products from Coca Cola, who is notorious for their very unhealthy
