Argumentative Essay: A Total War

185 Words1 Pages
Total war is essentially the mobilizing of every resource possible, to achieve domination over an enemy. This includes everything from human to material resources. I believe WWII was definitely a total war. This is due to the fact that each side created and produced deadly weapons to try and guarantee victory and anything that tried to interfere with that victory was subject to be terminated. For example, tanks became an innovation for strategically destroying enemy combatants, but sadly with the cost of innocent lives as well. Technology such as new jet engines, atomic bombs, radar detection, were on the rise, and were found to be crucial in either sides attempt at winning the war. The U.S. was justified with its attack on Hiroshima, Japan.
