Can you imagine what your ancestors felt when they first came to America? Immigrants had hope of a brighter future, a better tomorrow, and a successful career. Most accomplished this through a path to citizenship. They legally entered the United States and laid the foundation on which generations after have lived upon. However, there is a new form of immigration going on in the country and doesn't have the same promise as you ancestors had; illegal immigration. Immigration is key to the growth of diversity in our nation. Without it, we wouldn’t have such a unique culture. They need to become citizens first; the legal way. This is the only way we can make sure we know who is coming into our country. We have no idea who is coming in and out of our country. Immigrants are coming over the border for the wrong reasons. President Obama put in place administrative action to give amnesty to illegal immigrants; certain benefits without becoming citizens. These perks include amnesty for spouses, social security card, and driver's license. This plan is available to 80% of the illegal population. This means about 8 million new illegal immigrants have the same rights of being a citizen without becoming a citizen. This means tax money from legal citizens in America is being used from our tight government budget to give amnesty to immigrants crossing the border illegally. The government budget should be used in a bipartisan way to use its funds. Moreover, the number one origin of all illegal immigrants is from Mexico, being 6.72 million. Amnesty is drawing immigrants from Mexico for the wrong reasons. There are too many loopholes, or ways to get around citizenship to get benefits of real tax paying Americans, for Mexican immigrants to come over the border and take advantage of
