It had been an unconscious desire of humans to know if that only planet Earth is the only place with living beings or if extraterrestrial life in other places exists in the other parts of the universe. The American government has spent huge amounts of money to explore the vast unknown space trying to find any signs of life on other planets throughout the known universe. Area 51 is one of the places kept in a shroud of secrecy by the American government that has been which is considered to be the site with a huge amount of the unknown being researched. The army seems to have always been denying the existence of Area 51, but is also known to be testing out various exotic military weapons there. The people working in Area 51 were made to sign a national oath that prevented them from disclosing any information about the place (Leiby). This specifies how the government made the workers in Area 51 take an oath that prevented them from giving out any kind of information about Area 51 to anyone else, or it can be said to the public. This is not the only measure taken by the American government to keep this place hidden from the public eye. Official maps usually show restricted airspace in them in place of the actual Area 51, and Area 51 is not even visible in online maps such as Google and Apple Maps (Gray). The American government has gone as far as to prevent Area 51 from being a part of any sort of online map, like Google Maps, and not showing the actual Area 51 in physical maps and instead showing fake restricted airspace. It is also not a very smart idea to hide the existence of something so obvious and let there be baseless conspiracy theories about the place. The government should release an official statement that proves what Area 51 is used for. This report was released after eight years of prodding by George Washington University archivists researching the history of U-2. The report did not mention any alien life suggesting that Area 51 was used as the base for carrying out mundane tasks like testing spy planes (Nagourney). A report like that would greatly help the public to know what Area 51 is used for. Area 51 is restricted to the public. It has armed guards patrolling the perimeter of the area and it's impossible to get into the air space of Area 51 as you need permission from air traffic control (“Area 51”).
