I will be discussing Euthanasia in my research paper. This interested me because I saw a documentary on netflix about assisted suicide and euthanasia. It was in in England about an old man who wanted to end his life due to his sufferings from an illness. So you got to see a different point of view on why he chose it and the days before the process. For Euthanasia there is active and passive. Active is when someone uses lethal substances or forces to end a patient’s life, whether by the patient or someone else. Active is more controversial, and it is more likely to involve religious, moral, ethical, and empathetic arguments. As for passive euthanasia it is when life sustaining treatments are hold back. The definition is not explicit. If a doctor prescribes increasing doses of strong pain killing medication, such as opioids, this may eventually be toxic for the patient.
